Larry Lauman - District 1
Larry has served on the AHEC board since spring of 2011 and is currently serving as Secretary. Larry completed his NRECA Credentialed Cooperative Directors' courses in 2012.
After graduating from Shenandoah High School in 1978, Larry began farming and working for Morelock Feed where he now owns and operates Lauman Feed and Fencing. Larry also continues to farm and has a cow herd. Larry has served as Director on the Page County FSA board; he has been actively involved with the Page County Pork Producers and is member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Westboro where he is a past Church Council Member.
Larry and his wife Tammy, live on the farm in the Rural Coin area where his Grandparents lived. Larry and Tammy have two children and one grandson, daughter Mackenzie and husband Doug Anderson, grandson Blayton Anderson and son Spencer Lauman.
Larry and Tammy enjoy spoiling their grandson, spending time with their children and family, traveling and going to wineries.
Marvin Gubser - District 1
Marvin has been farming in a family corporation since before he graduated from Hamburg High School. He spent 2 years serving in the US Army in Fort Hood, Texas.
Marvin and his wife, Jeanne, have been married for 40 years. They have 2 sons and 1 daughter, 5 grandsons and 1 granddaughter.
Marvin and Jeanne love to travel on bus trips, go camping, tractor cruising and spending time with their grandchildren. Marvin loves to raise pumpkins and watch the kids pick them out. Marvin is active in the Calvary Community Church in Nebraska City, NE, where he has served in many positions in previous years. He currently serves as Trustee at Calvary Community Church. Marvin has worked with 4-H, Extension Council, Fremont County Fair Board, school communities and Boy Scouts.
Jim Crawford - District 2
Jim, his wife Theresa and daughter Sophia live south of Rock Port. They have 3 older sons and a daughter who have already transitioned out of the home and are blessed with 2 grandsons to date. Jim works for the University of Missouri Extension as a Field Specialist in Agricultural Engineering and is also the Superintendent of the Graves-Chapple Research Center. Theresa is a Nurse Practitioner at Community Hospital Fairfax.
Jim was born and raised in SE Iowa. He attended the University of Florida obtaining his BS and MS in Agricultural Engineering. After graduating, he went to work for Oppenheimer Intercontinental Corporation (OPICO) in Mobile, AL where he served as Chief Engineer and later added Sales Manager for Asia to his responsibilities. This provided the opportunity to visit over 40 countries providing technical assistance to local dealers. In 2000 he and his family moved to Atchison County to start work with MU Extension.
Jim currently serves as Secretary for the Atchison County Soil and Water Conservation District, President of the Northwest Missouri Living Centers board of directors, member of the Atchison County Fair Board and the Tarkio First Baptist Church Pastor Relations Committee.
In his spare time Jim enjoys woodworking, home improvement projects on their 100+ year old home, travel, spending time with his grandkids and is and avid fan of the Green Bay Packers.
Nancy Daugherty - District 2
Nancy was elected to the board in 2013.
Nancy and her husband of 54 years, Kelly, live in the Tarkio/Rock Port area. They have one son and two granddaughters. Kelly operates Kelly's Welding and Repair.
After graduation from Tarkio High School, Nancy attended and worked at Tarkio College in Tarkio for 18 years, resigning as Registrar in 1984. She received a BA in Business Administration from Tarkio College. The "second career" was with the Atchison County ASCS/FSA Office in Rock Port. She retired from FSA in 2012 after 25+ years.
Nancy currently serves as Treasurer and Chaplain of Rock Port's American Legion Auxiliary unit.
In her spare time, Nancy enjoys flower gardening, bowling and watching sports on TV.
Duane Klute - District 2
Duane graduated high school from Westboro in 1962. He started farming with his father and grandfather. Duane joined the Missouri Air National Guard in 1964 and went to Lackland Airforce Base for Boot Camp then onto Brooks Air Force Base for medical training. He served as a Medic for 6 years, attaining the rank of Tech Sergeant.
On May 1st, 1966, Duane married Suzanne Steele from Rock Port. They continued farming and became the proud parents of three sons, Steve, David, and Paul.
Steve and grandson Zachary have since joined the family farming operation that has now been ongoing for over 101 years, a milestone they are very proud of. Their farming operation began with his grandparents purchasing 120 acres in 1920 and now operation is about 1,700 acres.
Duane joined the board at AHEC in 1991. Since then, he has served as Treasurer and Vice-President. Duane is currently serving as President of the board. In 2004, Duane began serving on the NW Electric Power Cooperative board in Cameron, MO, representing AHEC on that board. He is serving as President of the NW board. For the past several years, he has served on the Missouri Electric Cooperatives board in Jefferson City, MO, representing NW Electric.
Duane says, "It is my honor to serve our membership on what I feel is the single most important organization that affects all our lives today, Electric Power. It has been the mission of this entire organization since the beginning and continues today to provide safe, reliable, and affordable power to our members."
Craig Heits - District 2
Craig was elected to the Atchison-Holt board July of 2011 and completed the NRECA Credentialed Cooperative Directors course in July of 2013.
Craig and his wife, Louanne, live and farm in the Fairfax and Corning area. They attend Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Holt County where they teach Sunday school and Craig is an Elder.
After graduating from Rock Port Hugh School, he worked at a local electronics shop and started farming on his own in 1981.
Craig has served 3 terms on the Atchison County FSA County Committee and is currently the President of the Fairfax Drainage District.
Craig enjoys attending area High School sporting events and all activities of his nieces and nephews! He also likes hiking, gardening, and sports of any kind and spending time with family.
David Frede - District 3
David has served on the Atchison Holt Electric Cooperative board since October, 2007. He is the Vice President of Farmers State Bank, Cameron, Missouri servicing the Mound City and Maitland, Missouri branches. David has been in lending and banking since 1977 almost entirely in the Holt County area.
David grew up on a grain and livestock farm outside Rock Port Mo. He graduated from NWMSU where he met his wife, Karen and they have been married 43 years. Karen is retired from the court system with the State of Missouri.
Karen and David have two children, Ben and Sally. Ben and spouse, Elaina, have two children and live in Columbia, Mo. Daughter, Sally, lives in St. Joseph, Mo.
David has completed all of his Credential Cooperative Directors courses sponsored by the NRECA. David is presently the Treasurer of the Cooperative board.
David has been a longtime member of the United Methodist Church, Mound City Kiwanis Club, and has served on several boards in the community and especially enjoys serving on the board of AHEC.
Hugh Wallace - District 3
Hugh is a Mound City native and a graduate of Mound City R-II and Northwest Missouri State University. Hugh has owned and operated Hugh Wallace Farms since moving to a farm north of Mound City in 1974.
Hugh and his wife Cindy have 2 daughters, Megan and Kelli. Both daughters have recently bought homes and returned to Mound City. Hugh served on the Mound City School Board for 21 years and he currently serves on the Farmers Mutual Board and the Mound City Development Corporation Board. Cindy retired from a 35-year teaching career in 2015.
Hugh has served on the Board of Directors of AHEC since 2004. He has completed the Credential Cooperative Director Program, the Director Gold Program, and the Board Leadership Program.
Hugh says, "I feel that it's extremely important to have a role in representing the members of District 3 as we provide safe, reliable, and affordable power to them. I consider serving on the Board to be an honor and a privilege."
Dennis Wright - District 3
